7.27.09 We've had an amazing month. Ever since the release of "Exhale", we've been played & interviewed on The Edge, here in Dallas, by the lovely Mark from the Local Edge. We've been on Fox's Good Day morning TV show (of which they didn't post in online. www.myfoxdfw.com to ask them why). Blogs are loving on us (Ghost of Blind Lemon says "Echo and the Pass is, hands down, the best song I've heard all year"). And to top it all off, we had an amazing CD release party at the best venue in Dallas, The Granada Theater. And it's only going to get better! We're booked through August, and that's just Dallas. We plan on spreading our wings. If you wanna pick up our new CD, "Exhale", you can get it several ways. If you live in Dallas, head over to either Good Records or Movie Trading Company (depending on where you are on Greenville Ave.) If you're more of an mp3 fan, you can get it on iTunes, AmazonMP3, Rhapsody, eMusic, & Napster. Of course there are several ways to preview/stream the songs. Myspace, Last.fm, & Pure Volume are a few. Please help us. Throw a link up on your Myspace/Facebook. Tell a friend to get a CD. Invite friends to shows. We're trying to make this a big year, so we can leap from town to town, city to city, and get "Exhale" in everyone's ears. We love you, and thank you for all your help in getting us to this point! -Hendrick
6.30.09 Finally!!!! On Tuesday, July 14th, our new album "Exhale" will be released to iTunes, Amazon.mp3, and several other mp3 sites. Then, the following Saturday, July 18th, we'll be celebrating the release by playing a huge show at The Granada Theater, here in Dallas. We'll be selling physical copies of the CD, as well as playing all the songs (with some old faves scattered about)! Come out & celebrate with us. This album has ben over 2 and a half years in the making. We need all our friends to enjoy this with us. -Hendrick
10.22.08 Welp. We've done it. We've finally finished something. It's our EP, entitled "You Gon Drown: The Summer Homes EP". The first title track, "You Gon Drown" is a shorted cut off of our upcoming full-length album, entitled "Exhale". If you live in Dallas, and want a hard copy of the EP, get to Good Records on lower Greenville. Otherwise, you can come to a show (check out the "shows" page). If you're all digital and what-not, then head over to iTunes, eMusic, Rhapsody, Napster, GroupieTunes, Amazon mp3, LaLa, or Shockhound.com and get it that way. On the EP you'll find: "You Gon Drown", a preview of our next album. "Gun and a Knife", a brand new song that we didn't want to wait until album #3 to record. "Summer Homes", a school project of Jay's (drummer and recording engineer, extraordinaire) that turned into a Hendrick song once Josh lyricked it. "I'll Be There", one of the first Josh Hendrick songs ever, re-recorded, live, by Jay at Dallas Sound Lab! And "Magic Mountain", a re-envisioning of an old favorite. In other news, we're playing again! We're trying to get to as many small towns in Texas as possible, by the looks of our calendar, and we're having so much fun. So, stop by the "shows" page, and see if you're near us, then come out. We'd love to meet you. We'll see you guys, soon! Love, 5.1.08 Hey kids. Here's what's going on. We're still recording. Yes, it seems like we're trying to make a career out of this one album, but we've had many a set back recording this thing. The worst being Hans getting every bit of his gear stolen out of his house, the NIGHT BEFORE he was to go in and record his parts (the last stuff we need). Hans will be going back in the studio this summer, hopefully June, and finishing the tracking part of this. Then, we'll have our producer Will Hunt, along with Chad from The Hero Factor, come in and mix the thing. We're hoping we can get this album in your hands before the end of the year. In the meantime, we've been writing. We almost have an entire album written to start recording after this. We're not sure that's the order it'll happen, but rest assured, there will always be something new flowing out of Hendrick. Speaking of, we may or may not play something that we've recently written, on the 16th of May, at the Granada Theater. We're really excited about this show, because we love Comrade and we love the Campaign, and we know that all of you who come out, are going to have a great time. We've also changed the way we do things, behind-the-scenes. We finally hired a manager, Vincent Chappa, and a booking/PR agent, Jon Sprinkle. Part of the reason we've been writing so much new material is because Vince & Jon have taken the reigns with force, freeing us up to be better at what we do. So, if you'd like to book us, you e-mail Jon at jon@hendrickmusic.com or booking@hendrickmusic.com. If you need management, vince@hendrickmusic.com will get you Vince. Ok, back to writing. We'll see everyone later this month!
8.17.07 Ok, so it's been a while since we updated this. If you come to our website, often, to see if we've updated, it's probably best to check out our Myspace page, at www.myspace.com/hendrickmusic, to find out all the day-to-day stuff we're doing. If you didn't know already, we lost our drummer, Steve, to college. However, Jay, our keyboardist/guitarist is an extremely talented drummer, and has been playing these songs for 2 years, now, so we just moved him to the drum throne. To replace the void that created on keys & guitar, we brought in our friend, Matthew Bridgman. You'll definately hear a difference in our sound, but you'll absolutely love it. We recentely spent some time in Spaceway Studios, with producer/engineer Will Hunt, recording 10 new songs for our next album. Jay and I have already finished all the bass & drums, but we also got a lot of Aaron & Josh's electric guitar recorded, too. So far, it sounds 50 times better than we thought it'd sound. Mr. Hunt has an amazing ear for things, and he's bringing the best performance out of us, possible. Until that album is release, you can still get "We Share the Sky" on iTunes, Rapsody, Napster, and Sony Connect. Just search for We Share the Sky, and it should pop right up, or just go to our Myspace and click on one of the links. As of right now, there's an absence of shows. If you're dying to see us play live, keep checking back. We're trying to keep low for a bit, to finish this recording, but we'll play a show here and there. And whenever we do, you'll definitely hear some new songs. Hope you're not mad at me for not keeping this updated. :)-gp
4.3.07 Hey! Thank you, to everyone who came out to the Granada, Saturday night, in Dallas. We had so much fun, playing with all our friends, and being able to play some new stuff for you guys. Speaking of new stuff... Hendrick will be headed to the studio at the beginning of May, to begin work on their second album under the name "Hendrick". As some of you know, Josh released a couple of self-titled albums, some of which you can hear clips of on our main website. This new album will showcase Hendrick as what we've grown into. As much as we love "We Share the Sky", and will continue to play the songs off of it (we love when you sing along), we can't WAIT for this next album to get into your hands. Some of the songs, you've been hearing, if you've been at our recent shows. We've been testing out songs such as "Echo and the Pass", "Let Me Breathe: This Dream Would Sink For You", "Feeling in My Heart", "You Gon' Drown", and we just opened our set on Saturday with "All I Wanted Was You". All those, plus many more will be on this new disc. Hopefully you'll be surprised the first time you hear it. Then, in love, the second time you hear it. In other "We Share the Sky News", it can be found on Napster, Sony Connect, & Rhapsody to be bought and downloaded, straight to your generic mp3 player. (iTunes will be coming soon, iPod freaks... not that you can't download it and put it into your iPod from Napster... you know what I mean) So click on one of those links if you don't have "We Share the Sky" yet, and buy the album or a song, and get it immediately! (for you non-htmlers, scroll to the bottom for the codes to copy & paste) For all you Dallas folks, we've got a few shows coming up. Sorry to the out-of-towners. We have to stay close, as to record this massive album. Saturday, April 28th, we're playing at The Door, in Deep Ellum! It's an all ages show, with Ethan Durelle & The Valentines. It's only $10, which gets you into all 3 of their venues. Plus, there's a couple more bands playing on our stage with us. The doors open at 7:30. We should hit the stage around 9/9:30. And if you happen to be at Northpark Mall that day, and happen to wander into Martin+Osa, you just may see us playing a little in-store for them. (don't tell anyone...kidding) Saturday, May 19th, we'll be playing a super funtime outdoor show with our buds, Radiant and The Campaign, at Firewater Bar & Grill. Odds are, this will be a 21 & up show, unfortunately for you young 'ns. We hate to leave you out, so maybe we'll beg them to let in 17 & up. Who knows what they can do. Well, there's the updates. We hope you read it, and are as excited as we are about this coming year. Oh, and we love you. -gp |
